Obair Croi is Irish Gaelic for “work of the heart”. Our focus is on developing and realising human potential. We facilitate a number of regular activities in Scotland and Switzerland (and occasionally in Ireland & England) including workshops, short courses, retreats, 1:1 personal work, meditations & sweat-lodges.
Our overall approach is similar to a para-phrased poem by the Sufi poet Rumi:

This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and attend them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honourably. S/he may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice; meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes …. It may be a guide to you becoming whole.
Learn the alchemy the True Human Beings knows: the moment you can meet & touch what troubles you’ve been given, the door opens.

Sorrows are the rags of old clothes & jackets that serve to cover, and then are taken off. That undressing, and the beautiful naked body underneath, is the sweetness that comes after the grief of letting go…. As one wakes up to what really Is!
